Community School of the Arts hosts weeklong ceramics workshop for Clarksville Academy

The Community School of the Arts recently hosted a weeklong ceramics workshop for 11 Clarksville Academy students.

Clarksville Academy鈥檚 Christine Lindsey and her students worked with Austin Peay State University Professor .

鈥淚t was an absolute pleasure working with Christine Lindsey and with Clarksville Academy,鈥 said Dawn Martin Dickins, Community School of the Arts (CSA) coordinator. 鈥淭he students worked really hard and created some amazing work.鈥

They worked every day from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. Jan. 3-7 during the academy鈥檚 Winterim, a special learning session at Clarksville Academy.

鈥淥n day one, they learned throwing on a potter鈥檚 wheel,鈥 according to about the week. 鈥淪tudents made mugs, bowls and mushrooms for fairy gardens.鈥

The Community School of the Arts offers a variety of arts classes for children and adults, from beginning to advanced levels, in the areas of dance, theatre, music, creative writing and visual art.
