Happening today: Homecoming Week ends with parade, football game

Austin Peay’s Homecoming Week is a bit different this year. The COVID-19 pandemic forced homecoming from last fall to this spring. The festivities continue today with the comedy show at 7 p.m. at the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center and finish up when the football team hosts Tennessee Martin at 2 p.m. Sunday, March 21. Here’s this week’s remaining schedule: Tuesday • 7 p.m.: Comedy Show at the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center. Wednesday • 12:30 p.m.: GovTrails Meet-up at “The Sentinel." Thursday • 7 p.m.: 15th Annual Govs Got Talent at the Foy Fitness and Recreation Center. Friday • 7 p.m.: 10th Annual (COVID-style) Smash! Bang! Lip Sync Contest (virtual). Saturday • 4 p.m.: 7th Annual Gov Run at the Intramural Fields. Sunday • 10 a.m.: 75th Annual Homecoming Parade along College, Drane and Marion streets. • 2 p.m.: Govs host Tennessee Martin at Fortera Stadium. Austin Peay Alumni Relations also has several events scheduled this week, including the Marvin Posey, Jr. Scholarship Art Exhibit (see below). The festivities wrap up today with the annual Homecoming Parade and when the football team hosts Tennessee Martin at 2 p.m.
