Science a smash hit during Governor’s School for Computational Physics

(Posted June 7, 2018)

On a recent afternoon, Dr. Jaime Taylor, professor of physics, decided to have a little fun when explaining key physics principles to group of high school students. Instead of writing about inertia and conservation of energy on a white board, he had a cinderblock crushed on his chest with a sledgehammer.

Taylor did this before an audience of more than 30 of the state’s brightest high school students. They’re on campus this summer for the Governor’s School for Computational Physics, hosted by APSU.
