CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 鈥 Noted learning coach Gregg Goodhart will visit the Austin Peay State University campus Sept. 22-23 for a series of events sponsored by APSU鈥檚 Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts.
Recently named 鈥淥utstanding Educator of the Year鈥 by the American String Teacher鈥檚 Association, Goodhart鈥檚 work focuses on learning and skill-acquisition as a function of brain function and neuroscience (rather than often misleading assumptions concerning 鈥榯alent, 鈥業Q鈥 and 鈥榞iftedness鈥). He has presented lectures at a wide range of national conferences, and he is the author of several articles featured in such publications as the American String Teachers Journal and the Journal of the Guitar Foundation of America.
During his time on campus, Goodhart will offer a public lecture, 鈥淭he Art and Science of Learning Music and Anything Else,鈥 at 7:30 p.m. on Tuesday, Sept. 22 in the Mabry Concert Hall in the Music/Mass Communication Building. The lecture is free and open to the public.
