CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 鈥 The venue is grand, but the setting will be intimate as Austin Peay State University professor of music David Steinquest presents his fifth annual Christmas concert.

Titled 鈥淛ingle Bells,鈥 Steinquest鈥檚 concert will take over The George and Sharon Mabry Concert Hall at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 5, 2014, transforming the venue into a 鈥渉omey鈥 setting.

鈥淲e set the stage up like a living room, complete with a couch, chair, lamps and tables with drinks and food and a Christmas tree,鈥 Steinquest said. 鈥淚t makes the audience feel like they just walked in on a Christmas party 鈥 it will be very informal and very fun.鈥

A group of talented performers will take the stage, including David Alford, known for his role as Bucky Dawes on the hit ABC show 鈥淣ashville,鈥 and Allison Campbell, vocals; Elvis Costello band member Jeff Taylor, piano; Paul Binkley of the legendary group Alabama, guitar; Tony Nagy, bass; Matt DeVore, drums; Steinquest, percussion; Erin Binkley; and the APSU Percussion Ensemble.

鈥淚t鈥檚 a really great (group) we have, and there鈥檚 a really nice sync in terms of the band鈥檚 personalities because we鈥檝e all known each other for a long time,鈥 Steinquest said. 鈥淎nd it鈥檚 also really cool for our students (with the APSU Percussion Ensemble), because they get a chance to interact with professionals and that鈥檚 always a great opportunity for them.鈥

This year鈥檚 show includes classic Christmas songs like 鈥淛ingle Bells,鈥 鈥淥 Come, O Come, Emmanuel,鈥 鈥淎ngels We Have Heard On High,鈥 鈥淗ark The Herald Angels Sing,鈥 鈥淭ennessee Christmas鈥 and 鈥淭he Twelve Days of Christmas.鈥 These holiday standards will be performed in the style of famous artists including Barbra Streisand, Amy Grant, Over the Rhine, Sara Groves, Dave Barnes, Rosie Thomas, Family Force 5 and Harry Connick, Jr.

Admission is either two cans of food, which will be donated to Loaves and Fishes, or $3. This concert sold out last year, so attendees are encouraged to get tickets ahead of time by contacting the APSU music office at 931-221-7818.
