"Fail Forward" art exhibit now open at APSU
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 鈥 For years, visitors to Austin Peay State University鈥檚 Wilbur N. Daniel African-American Cultural Center have admired the art gallery set up in the front lobby. Particularly, they鈥檝e commented on the colorful, abstract paintings by alumna Miesha Arnold.
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 鈥 For years, visitors to Austin Peay State University鈥檚 Wilbur N. Daniel African-American Cultural Center have admired the art gallery set up in the front lobby. Particularly, they鈥檝e commented on the colorful, abstract paintings by alumna Miesha Arnold.
The artist generously donated her work to the University, and this month, the Center is hosting an exhibition of her watercolors, titled 鈥淔ail Forward.鈥 The display, which is free and open to the public, is part of the Center鈥檚 Black History Month programming. A reception with the artist is scheduled for 5 p.m. on Feb. 20.
鈥淚 will be showing 12 limited edition watercolor illustrations,鈥 Arnold wrote on her website http://mieshaarnold.wordpress.com/. 鈥淚 will have prints for sale, so come out and enjoy my thoughts and emotions on paper.鈥
