APSU alumna and dyslexia advocate to sign new book on Feb. 5

            CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 鈥 At 11 a.m. on Feb. 5, noted dyslexia advocate and Austin Peay State University alumna Ruth Fuller Lature (鈥63, 鈥76) will sign copies of her new book, 鈥淒yslexia: A Teacher鈥檚 Journey,鈥 in the Morgan University Center.

            CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 鈥 At 11 a.m. on Feb. 5, noted dyslexia advocate and Austin Peay State University alumna Ruth Fuller Lature (鈥63, 鈥76) will sign copies of her new book, 鈥淒yslexia: A Teacher鈥檚 Journey,鈥 in the Morgan University Center.

            Lature spent 35 years as a public school teacher in Kentucky, where she quickly developed a passion for students with reading disabilities. She went on to found the Dyslexia Association of the Pennyrile, an association dedicated to teaching persons with dyslexia. 

            Her new book is a memoir, detailing Lature鈥檚 experiences and struggles as an advocate, that also provides relevant information about dyslexia. Readers will learn about websites, books and organizations that can help individuals or families dealing with dyslexia.
