Clarksville Community Concert opens new season with Meridian Arts Ensemble
Excited to offer refreshing and eclectic musical experiences to concertgoers, the Clarksville Community Concert Association is proud to open its 2011-2012 season with the renowned Meridian Arts Ensemble. Regarded as one of America鈥檚 most outstanding brass groups, the Meridian Arts Ensemble will captivate audiences at Austin Peay State University鈥 s Concert Hall on at 7:30 p.m. on Sept. 23, offering contemporary selections owing a great deal to classical music of centuries gone by. The group, consisting of five brass players and a percussionist, is well-known for appealing to and attracting a diverse audience base.
Publications such as Billboard Magazine and the Washington Post have heralded the group鈥檚 performances, and now it鈥檚 time for Clarksville audiences to hear for themselves the symphonic richness of this outstanding ensemble.
鈥淭hey are excellent,鈥 Richard Steffen, APSU professor of trumpet, said. 鈥淚 heard one their CDs about two years ago and have been listening to them ever since.鈥
