2011 Homecoming features 2 sports events open to public
The Austin Peay State University National Alumni Association will sponsor both a golf tournament and 5K scholarship run during Homecoming 2011, and those will be open to the public.
The Austin Peay State University National Alumni Association will sponsor both a golf tournament and 5K scholarship run during Homecoming 2011, and those will be open to the public.
The 33rd Annual Homecoming Golf Tournament will be at 8 a.m., Friday, Oct. 28 at Swan Lake Golf Course. Cost is $60 per person, and advance registration is required. Fee includes ditty bag, refreshments on the golf course and light lunch. The event, sponsored by Budweiser of Clarksville, is chaired by alumnus Frazier Allen (’99).
The Homecoming Scholarship 5K Run is sponsored by both the APSU National Alumni Association and University Recreation. It will begin at 8 a.m., Saturday, Oct. 29 on the front lawn of the Clement Building on College Street. Registration is $25 in advance, $30 day of race. Advance registration is preferred. The fee includes T-shirt and refreshments. Prizes and cash awards will be announced. Co-chairs are alumni Mike (’78) and Lisa (’81) Kelley, along with Gloria Henshaw (’82), Tim Leszczak, Anne Perrault, Melony Shemberger (’06), Amelia Wallace (’66), Lori O’Shoney (’87), Jimmy Clark (’07) and Doug Molnar.
