APSU encourages campus, community to display patriotism
At Austin Peay State University, we know how to roll out our red and white school colors. Add a touch of blue, and we are helping Clarksville to be named the Most Patriotic City by the Rand McNally-USA Today Best of the Road contest.
The Road Rally Team of Captain and Clark will visit Clarksville and Fort Campbell on July 3 and 4 as part of their judging of the Most Patriotic category for the contest. 鈥淐aptain鈥 Chris Staudinger and Tawny Clark will travel from Peachtree City, Ga., to Fort Leonard Wood on Wednesday then depart for Clarksville on Saturday.

The campus community is encouraged to wear red, white and blue, fly the American flag, post patriotic decorations and participate in activities that include the annual Independence Day Celebration with concerts and fireworks Sunday evening, July 3 at McGregor Park. APSU has been a part of a committee of local leader to help finalize plans for this visit.
On Monday, Fort Campbell will hold its festivities of more concerts and fireworks.
Captain and Clark were one of five Road Rally teams that left New York City on June 23 to criss-cross the U.S. to review the six finalists in categories of Most Beautiful, Most Patriotic, Most Fun, Friendliest and Best for Food. Their road rally will end in Los Angeles on July 15.
