Singer Williams to Share Gospel Music for APSU Winter Salon Series
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 鈥 The Austin Peay State University Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts will present its February Winter Salon featuring singer Velma Jo Williams, at 6 p.m. on Feb. 17 in the campus鈥 Clement Auditorium.
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. 鈥 The Austin Peay State University Center of Excellence for the Creative Arts will present its February Winter Salon featuring singer Velma Jo Williams, at 6 p.m. on Feb. 17 in the campus鈥 Clement Auditorium.
Williams is a national speaker, licensed minister and recording artist who was born and raised in Louisville, Ky. For more than 18 years, she has been involved in the Clarksville community, where she is a member and elder of Faith Outreach Church.
In October of 2008, Williams was named director of the Montgomery County Adult Literacy Council. She holds a B.S. degree in education and has two highly acclaimed recordings titled 鈥淯nto the Lord鈥 and 鈥淏irth of a New Praise.鈥 On Feb. 17, she will sing a selection of her favorite gospel songs, and her CDs will be available for purchase after the performance.
