APSU Senior Art Students Exhibit Work this Spring
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – Earlier this month, a group of 16 young artists gathered in a classroom on the Austin Peay State University campus while a winter storm dropped two to three inches of snow outside. Normally, this would be a cause of distraction for the students. They might be expected to gather around the window and wonder if the University was going to close (which it did moments later).

Normally, this would be a cause of distraction for the students. They might be expected to gather around the window and wonder if the University was going to close (which it did moments later).
But on this afternoon, they weren’t so easily sidetracked. This spring marks their last semester as APSU students, and that afternoon, they were learning a little about the one of the great opportunities afforded to any artists - exhibiting their work to the public.
The students, all seeking a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree, are enrolled in the Senior Exhibition class, taught by professor of art Gregg Schlanger. The class requires students to present their work in a public setting to earn their diploma.
The APSU Department of Art has scheduled these student art exhibitions on the main campus for this spring, and all shows are open to the public.
The seniors scheduled to present are the following:
• March 21-25: Melissa Cox, Trahern, 108.
• March 28-April 1: Jessica Griffin, Trahern, 108.
• April 4-8: Megan Melton, Trahern, 108.
• April 11-22: Wendy Wainwright, Trahern, 108.
• April 25-29: Reni Zhang, Trahern, 108.
• April 25-29: Visual communication group exhibit featuring graphic design work by Justin Hooper, Hannah Jennings, Kristina Juodenas-Tickle, Michael Kline, Kelsey Masters, John Mathis, Casslyn Moore, Renee Perry, Eric Watson and Megan Wirrick, Trahern Gallery.
