CSA Fall Concerts Begin this Week
CLARKSVILLE, Tenn. – The Community School of the Arts at Austin Peay State University, which has provided area adults and children with creative arts classes for the last 21 years, is gearing up for its annual end-of-semester concerts and art exhibits.
The CSA offers lessons in music, dance and the visual arts for the general community. Those classes culminate with the end of semester performances and exhibits.
This year’s events, which are free and open to the public, include:

This year’s events, which are free and open to the public, include:
• Youth Chorus, Teen Singers and Community Chorus concert – 7 p.m., Dec. 9 in the Music/Mass Communication Building’s Concert Hall.
• Art exhibits – 9 a.m. to 5 p.m., Dec. 11, in the Music/Mass Communication Building lobby.
• Piano recital by students of Sylvia Carver – 9 a.m., Dec. 11 in the MMC Concert Hall.
• Piano recital by students of Simone Parker – 11:30 a.m., Dec. 11 in the MMC Concert Hall.
• Piano and jazz concert by students of Carolyn Bunger, Jared Wilson, Stacie Robbins and Gary Clayton – 12:30 p.m., Dec. 11 in the MMC Concert Hall.
• Vocal recital by students of Desiree Dolan, Maggie Brewer and Rachel Hansbury – 1:30 p.m., Dec. 11, in the MMC Concert Hall.
• Violin recital by students of Emily Crane, Jewelia Hartley and Alison McKelvey – 2:30 p.m., Dec. 11, in the MMC Concert Hall.
• Violin recital by students of Robin Eckert – 3:30 p.m., Dec. 11, in the MMC Concert Hall.
• Cello, guitar and piano recital by students of Sadie Slack, Seth Guillen and Carolyn Bunger – 4:30 p.m., Dec. 11, in the MMC Concert Hall.
• Woodwinds recital by students of Jeanette Zyko, Caleb Wise, JoAnn McIntosh and Johnny Tubbs – 5:30 p.m., Dec. 11, in the MMC Concert Hall.
• Percussion ensemble and flute choir concert – 6:30 p.m., Dec. 11, in the MMC Concert Hall.
The CSA serves approximately 350 students and employs 40 instructors. The goal of the school is to promote and increase awareness of the arts throughout the surrounding area.
