APSU announces Mr. and Madame Governor winners
Austin Peay has selected this years Mr. and Madame Governor winners.Gavin Roark has been named Mr. Governor and Ashley Watson as Madame Governor.
The Student Government Association (SGA) awards the titles to honor a male and female student for their outstanding service and achievement while at Austin Peay.

Gavin Roark has been named Mr. Governor and Ashley Watson as Madame Governor.
The Student Government Association (SGA) awards the titles to honor a male and female student for their outstanding service and achievement while at Austin Peay.
Roark majored in corporate communication. He served as SGA president and residence hall director and as a member of the President's Emerging Leaders Program, Omicron Delta Kappa Leadership Honor Society, Order of Omega National Greek Honor Society, Minority Retention Task Force Committee, Sigma Phi Epsilon Fraternity and the Governors Ambassadors.
His previous honors include Residence Hall Director of the Year, APSU Governors Rising Leader Award, National Collegiate Student Government Award, Outstanding Student Leader of the Year, Greek Leader Award and the Roger Dickson Leadership Award.
Watson, a history major, served as chief justice of the SGA, vice president of the Order of Omega, secretary of Chi Omega Women's Fraternity, University tour guide and New Student Orientation leader. She was a member of the Governors Ambassadors, Omicron Delta Kappa, Gamma Beta Phi Honor Society and the Student Organization Council.
Her previous honors include the Teena King Scholarship for Excellence in Leadership, Governor's Pride Excellence in Leadership Award and an Academic Honor Scholarship.
Mr. and Madame Governor must be graduating seniors with a minimum 3.0 GPA who have been involved in extracurricular activities and held at least one leadership position in an APSU organization.
