AP Playhouse ventures into “Art”
Austin Peays AP Playhouse presents the Tony award-winning play Art as the final performance of the 2003-04 season.The play will be performed at 7:30 p.m., Wednesday-Saturday, April 28-May 1 and at 2 p.m., Sunday, May 2, in Trahern Theatre.
Set in Paris, Art is the story of three longtime friends at odds over a work of art. As the conflict progresses, each character examines her personal relationships.

Though the play is written for three men, Director Scott Boyd, APSU associate professor of theatre, cast three female students: Marie Lavalley, Rachel Estonson and Jessica Andrews.
“I cast what I felt was the strongest ensemble,” he says, noting the show is not sexual due to its focus on relationships among friends.
Boyd says the play provides a refreshing change of pace for actors and audience members alike. “We've been doing a lot of heavy material this season,” he says. “This show is something a little lighter and more contemporary—a wonderful comedy.”
Parents should note the performance includes some strong language.
The cost of admission is $4 for students and $6 for adults. Tickets may be purchased from 3-6 p.m., Monday-Friday, April 26-30 and one hour prior to each performance in the Trahern Ticket Office located in APSU's Trahern Building, Room 224.
