Alumna chosen to lead APSU marketing efforts
APSU alumna Terry Beth Stringer joins the staff in Austin Peays Office of Public Relations and Marketing. She returns to APSU from her previous position as events and marketing manager for the Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau.In that position, Stringer gained valuable marketing experience in a relatively short time. She was responsible for marketing the 2004 Rivers & Spires, negotiating more than $70,000 in sponsorships and creating print and broadcast ads.
APSU alumna Terry Beth Stringer joins the staff in Austin Peay's Office of Public Relations and Marketing. She returns to APSU from her previous position as events and marketing manager for the Clarksville-Montgomery County Convention and Visitors Bureau.
In that position, Stringer gained valuable marketing experience in a relatively short time. She was responsible for marketing the 2004 Rivers & Spires, negotiating more than $70,000 in sponsorships and creating print and broadcast ads.
Most recently, she was involved in promoting and facilitating the Amateur Athletic Union (AAU) competition, which brought more than 6,500 visitors to Clarksville for several days.
Prior to accepting the full-time position with the Convention and Visitors Bureau, Stringer worked part time as a writer in Austin Peay's Public Relations and Marketing Office.
As a graduate student at APSU, while fulfilling the obligations of a full graduate-level course load, she worked nights and weekends for Outback Steakhouse and weekdays as a graduate assistant (GA) for the Public Relations and Marketing Office and the Tennessee Small Business Development Centerwhile maintaining a 4.0 grade point average.
Stringer is completing a Master of Arts in Corporate Communication. She earned both a Bachelor of Business Administration and a Bachelor of Science in Communication from APSU.
She was a member of Chi Omega Women's Fraternity, Alpha Kappa Psi Business Fraternity and Omicron Delta Kappa Honor Society.
