The All State among top 3 college newspapers

Judges from USA Today named Austin Peay State Universitys student newspaper among the top three college newspapers at the 20th annual Southeast Journalism Conference, Jan. 25-27 in Birmingham, Ala.

The All State earned third place in the best college newspaper category, behind Auburn University and Mississippi State University. A total of 27 college newspapers submitted work for consideration by the judges in this category.

Also, five members of The All State staff were awarded honors at the conference: Judges from USA Today named Austin Peay State University's student newspaper among the top three college newspapers at the 20th annual Southeast Journalism Conference, Jan. 25-27 in Birmingham, Ala.

Also, five members of The All State staff were awarded honors at the conference:
• Editor in Chief Mandy Rogers, Lebanon, first place in the on-site newspaper page design competition.
• Senior Photographer Lois Jones, Clarksville, fifth place in the best press photographer category.
• Sports Columnist Michael Young, Greenbrier, second place in the best sports writer category.
• Perspectives Editor Kasey Henricks, Chattanooga, eighth place in the best opinion-editorial writer category.
• Reporter A.J. Dugger, Memphis, 10th place in the best feature writer category.

The All State is a student-produced newspaper published each Wednesday during the fall and spring semesters.
