Adjunct to be guest faculty instructor at University of South Carolina
February 4, 2003An adjunct faculty instructor at Fort Campbell in the Law Enforcement Associate Arts Degree Program has been invited to the National Advocacy Center as a guest instructor.
Steve Garrett, a 20-year career state prosecutor who has taught criminal procedures and criminal evidence since 1987, was invited by the University of South Carolina to teach Trial Advocacy I at the National Advocacy Center located at the universitys campus at Columbia.

An adjunct faculty instructor at Fort Campbell in the Law Enforcement Associate Arts Degree Program has been invited to the National Advocacy Center as a guest instructor.
Steve Garrett, a 20-year career state prosecutor who has taught criminal procedures and criminal evidence since 1987, was invited by the University of South Carolina to teach 鈥淭rial Advocacy I鈥 at the National Advocacy Center located at the university's campus at Columbia.
The Center offers a curriculum designed to advance the trial skills of state and federal prosecutors by the use of analytical advocacy and state of the art courtroom technology.
To receive the position, Garrett, along with nine other veteran prosecutors, gave demonstrations relating to all phases of a criminal jury trial to 60 prosecutors with two to four years experience from across the nation.
Garrett is a recipient of APSU's Pioneer Award and recently was awarded the Law Enforcement Commendation Medal by the Sons of the American Revolution.
He holds a B.A. degree from George Peabody College and a J.D. degree from the Cecil C. Humpreys School of Law, University of Memphis.
The National Advocacy Center is under the joint auspices of the United States Department of Justice and the National District Attorneys Association.
