Austin Peay students once again are being recognized as some of the best in the nation.
A team of four students in the accounting class of Dr. David Eichelberger, assistant professor of accounting, are among the top 10 in the nation in the Institute of Management Accountants' annual case video presentation competition.
Each year, students are presented with a management accounting case for which they prepare a videotaped solution. The teams are judged by a panel of professionals on multiple criteria, including technical content, presentation skills, case analysis style, presentation organization and strength of recommendations and conclusions.
If they make it to the top four, the students will present their case to the national IMA conference in Nashville later this month and win a monetary award of $3,000 for Alpha Beta Psi, the professional business and financial honor fraternity. First-place winners will receive $5,000 for the fraternity.
This marks the first time an Austin Peay team has been ranked in the top 10 in the competition.
