The 2006 Winter Commencement will not include a guest speaker, and no faculty or student awards will be presented, officials said.
鈥淲e want the focus to be on the students,鈥 said Dr. Margaret Dietrich, chair of the Commencement Committee and professor of education.
The presentation of faculty and student awards will be reserved for honor events in the spring.
Currently, APSU has two Commencement ceremonies a yearin December and May. Because of a rapidly growing enrollment, increased numbers of graduates and limited space in the massive Dunn Center where Commencement is held, APSU will host three graduation ceremonies in 2007, with the addition of a summer Commencement in August.
