The Past Presidents Scholarship fund has been combined with the Reunion and Friends Scholarship fund to endow the new APSUNAA Reunion and Past Presidents Scholarship.
Based on financial need, the new scholarship will go to a junior, senior or graduate student who is active on campus and considered to have potential to be an alumni volunteer. A 3.0 grade-point average is required.
Two $1,000 awards will be presented annually, and the scholarship is renewable. The recipients will be required to work five hours a week in the Pace Alumni Center at Emerald Hill.
A committee, including the director of the Office of Alumni and Annual Giving and past presidents of the APSU National Alumni Association, will select the scholarship recipients.
Kay Martin, Clarksville, who is a past president of the alumni association, said, “To ensure the continuation of the best scholarship program available to APSU students, the National Alumni Association and the APSU Annual Giving Administration have agreed to merge the Past Presidents Scholarship and the Alumni Scholarship into one scholarship.
“We believe this plan will ensure the longevity of a wonderful scholarship for juniors and seniors at Austin Peay. Under the plan, two scholarships will be awarded each year to deserving students.â€
