Civil engineering technology and mechanical engineering technology are the new areas of specialization for students seeking a Bachelor of Science in Engineering Technology. The new specializations are part of the program's concentrations in manufacturing, electronics and robotics.

Courses in engineering technology are offered at the APSU Center @ Fort Campbell for both main campus and Fort Campbell students. Both daytime and evening courses are available to accommodate students who work while attending Austin Peay.

鈥淲e encourage students to take internships or other job opportunities in industry so that they can get practical experience while completing their degrees,鈥 said Adel Salama, chair and professor of engineering technology at APSU.

In addition to the bachelor's degree program, APSU offers an associate degree in electronics technology, as well as a minor in engineering technology.

For more information about majoring in engineering technology at APSU, contact Salama by telephone at (931) 221-1427 or by e-mail at salamaa@apsu.edu. Also, visit the APSU Web site at /apfc/degrees/Engtech.htm for more information about the program. -- Melony Leazer
