18th Annual Governors Golf Classic Set for July 17

The Governors Golf Classic will be a month earlier than usual. Sponsored by the Governors Club, the 18th annual event will be held July 17 at Swan Lake Golf Course.

The four-person scramble will be limited to 60 teams, 30 per shotgun starts at 8 a.m. and 1 p.m., respectively. Cost is $400 per team, or $100 per person. Proceeds from the tournament will benefit APSU athletics.

Prizes will be awarded to the top finishers of each round along with other designated random finishers. In addition, special hole prizes will be awarded.

Players 65 and older may hit from the senior tees while women may hit from the ladies' tees.

As in previous years, a dinner will be held, Friday, July 16, at the Charles Hand Farm. The social hour will be at 6 p.m. with the dinner beginning at 7 p.m., with music provided by the Clarence Dobbins Review. Individuals who don't plan on playing still can attend the dinner. The cost is $30 per couple.
