10 APSU first-year students named essay winners

Ten Austin Peay State University first-year students were recognized for having best student essays on themes from the book An Ordinary Man, an autobiography by Paul Rusesabagina (pronounced roo-se-sa-ba-ge-na) and the basis for the Oscar-nominated movie, Hotel Rwanda.

The students were lauded for their winning entries during a dinner held Oct. 1 at APSU that featured Rusesabagina, who later that evening delivered a public talk to more than 1,000 people in the APSU Dunn Center.
