Austin Peay State University is located in the heart of historic downtown Clarksville, Tennessee, just 45 miles from Nashville. Surrounded by natural beauty, the amenities of city living and an array of opportunities for outdoor recreation can be found in Clarksville.

Campus

Our 190-acre campus strikes a balance between lush green space and state-of-the-art facilities, including one of the state鈥檚 premier science education complexes, a fitness center and village-style student apartments. Continually ranked by the Tennessee Bureau of Investigation as one of the safest campuses in Tennessee, Austin Peay provides a secure campus environment for students.

Housing

With 11 different residence halls to choose from, including on-campus apartments, shared suites and private rooms, you will find on campus housing that meets your needs. All residents have free access to Wi-Fi, cable television and laundry machines.

Transportation

Conveniently located less than an hour from the Nashville International Airport, Austin Peay is an easy school to get to. Located closer? Austin Peay allows students, including freshmen, to have cars on campus with access to parking facilities. Austin Peay students can also ride the Clarksville Transit System buses for free; bus stops are located in several places around campus and the bus depot is only three blocks away.

Academics

With an average class size of 24 students and a student to faculty ratio of 17-to-1, APSU professors provide personal attention in a setting that allows for conversation, not just lecture. Through our Centers of Excellence, Office of Study Abroad and International Exchange and Office of Undergraduate Research, students are able to find out-of-class experiences that broaden their academic horizons.
